HK Design, formerly Hanna Khoury Design, is a Lebanese furniture and interior design business founded in 1976. We bring together design, local production and a curated retail selection to create spaces that feel personal and work beautifully.

Where it all began.
Hanna Gerges El Khoury
Before the showrooms and collections, there was a young man’s passion for working with wood. Born in Maghdouch, South Lebanon, on 5 January 1941, Hanna Gerges El Khoury travelled to Germany to pursue that passion through study and practical training.
From 1962 to 1965, he studied carpentry in Munich, earning his master carpentry qualification. He then continued his education for two years in Detmold, studying interior architecture and developing his approach to design.
These formative years brought together the drawing board and the workbench—a connection between imagining a piece and knowing how to make it.
From Germany to a family business.
On returning to Lebanon, Hanna worked in the woodworking industry before opening Galerie Hanna Khoury in Mazraat Yachouh in 1976. The first showroom presented furniture he designed himself.
With the support of his wife, Georgette, that personal ambition became a family business. His education, practical experience and commitment to furniture laid the foundations of the company known today as HK Design.
Built on family. Carried forward together.
Hanna’s successors—Akram, a civil engineer; Souheil, an interior designer; Rouba, a financial consultant; and Ziad, an architect—gradually became part of the company’s creative, production and development work. Together, the family expanded its activities across design, execution and retail while continuing the skills and values passed on by its founder.

The milestones that shaped HK Design.
1976
The first showroom
Hanna Gerges El Khoury founded the company in Mazraat Yachouh, Lebanon, opening the first Hanna Khoury showroom and presenting his own furniture designs.
1986
A larger home for the collection
The current Galerie Hanna Khoury showroom opened, expanding the business into six floors dedicated to its collections and departments.
1995
The factory opens
Hanna established his own furniture factory in Mazraat Yachouh’s Industrial City, creating the capacity to grow from artisanal production into larger industrial projects.
2015
Point-Virgule launches
The family’s offering expanded into a dedicated home décor brand.
2020
Beykit launches
Beykit introduced a specialised brand for customised kitchen design and production.
2022
Grand-Petit launches
Grand-Petit joined the family, focusing on furniture and spaces for babies and children.
2023
A new company structure
HK Design SAL and HK Factory SAL were established as part of a restructuring to develop the business and carry forward the legacy begun in 1976.
From a drawing to a finished piece.
Our 2,000 m² factory in Mazraat Yachouh’s Industrial City brings together engineers, technical operators and skilled makers. Their work transforms design concepts and technical drawings into furniture through specialised woodwork, upholstery, furniture painting and custom production.
